Horse Racing Ireland have announced on Wednesday 18th March that racing in Ireland will continue to go ahead whilst adhering to strict guidelines. Having reviewed the five meetings which have already taken place behind closed doors HRI have updated their guidelines which can be viewed by clicking HERE.
The new measures allow only those vital to the logistics of ensuring race meetings run smoothly and safely and does not facilitate attendance by owners at this time. As you will be aware racing in France and the UK has been suspended entirely as their fixture list with multiple meetings every day has a reliance on public ambulance services which are no longer available to them. In Ireland this service is provided by Voluntary service providers and furthermore to assist with the allocation of all racing resources there is a new revised schedule of racing which can be viewed by clicking HERE. HRI remain in contact with Government to ensure that racing can continue for the time being. Continuation of racing is crucial to the entire industry in Ireland and indeed all of those who derive their income from Horse Racing. We appreciate the support of all owners at this time and remind owners that racing will continue to be shown on RacingTV as always. AIRO would also like to note that the upcoming AGM scheduled to take place on March 31st at the ITBA offices has been postponed until further notice.
