Horse Racing Ireland have released important information for the return to racecourse of owners. Please note, HRI have confirmed that the intended date of July 20th for the return of owners to racecourses has been delayed to the deferral of the Government roadmap. Online Health Screening Information
HRI strongly advises those owners who expect to have a runner in the first month (20th July to 20th August) to follow these steps before close of business on Friday, July 17 at 6pm. This is a key deadline. Step 1 The Online Health Screening can be carried out through the website www.medical-ihrb.com. If you have a smart phone, the registration process is often easier than on a computer or laptop. Step 2 Once logged on, the owner will be required to provide their contact details, upload a passport type photograph, and complete a short medical questionnaire. Our video guide runs through each step of this process – VIEW HERE. If you have a smart phone, uploading your photograph, is often easier than on a computer or laptop. Select the role "Owner". Take particular care to ensure the correct mobile number is entered e.g. drop the "0" (35387 *******). Please note, as two people can attend per owner, each attendee (e.g. fellow owner, syndicate member, wife, husband etc.) must complete the online health screening and supply their own mobile number and email address (the same mobile number cannot be used twice as one barcode is sent per mobile number). Step 3 Once your registration is complete, you must login the next day (24 hours later) where you will see your account has been created and the upcoming racing fixtures. Once you have logged in and can see the racing fixtures, that is your confirmation that Step 3 is completed successfully. Any concerns raised by the questionnaire will be followed up by the Senior Medical Officer, Dr Jennifer Pugh. For confidentiality reasons you will not be asked for details on-line, rather yes /no answers that will then be followed up. Step 4 On completion of Step 3, owners must log back into their account and complete health screening the day before every race meeting by no later than 6pm. On completion of the health screening questionnaire a barcode specific to you will be generated (this will be a different barcode for each day). You must bring this barcode along with your AIR Card & ID to the race meeting for scanning on the day – the barcode can be on your phone or printed out. Each person must have their own specific barcode. Should you fail to complete online health screening by the 6pm deadline each day, you will not be permitted to attend the race meeting. Unfortunately, there can be no exceptions. Step 5 While trainers, jockeys and officials are familiar with this process now, HRI understand fully that this is a new requirement from owners – HRI is keen to have you back racing and therefore want to help you in any way we can. If you are experiencing difficulty during the registration process, please see www.ihrb.ie/screening for further information on how to complete health screening. There is also a telephone support line that can be called 045-445656 between 10am and 5pm only. Finally, for those owners who do not register their details before July 17 at 6pm, they will be required to go through the full registration process on the day when they have their first runner declared – no later than 6pm two days before the race meeting. For example, if you have a runner on Friday July 24, your first registration must be complete by Wednesday July 22 at 6pm. Thereafter you will need to log in the day before every subsequent meeting by 6pm to generate your new barcode. Reminders will be issued on all entry & declaration emails, but it is the owners’ responsibility to ensure the appropriate health screening is carried out and that they have the correct AIR cards. If you are unsure, contact the team on the details below well in advance of any pending deadlines – if a deadline has passed unfortunately, HRI will not be able to process your admission in time for this outing. Race Day Further information on the race day experience will be provided as you make entries and declarations for meetings from July 20. But to summarise, before attending the race fixture, each owner (including guests, representatives etc.) should confirm they have: - Registered and Completed the online health screening in advance of each race meeting. - They have their barcode either on their mobile device or printed in advance. It is the correct barcode for the correct meeting - They have the correct AIR card and ID with them on arrival at the racecourse. Each person attending must have the correct AIR card. To organise replacement or lost cards, please contact AIR immediately on 01-6760911. Please VIEW HERE our general guide to the admission process on the racecourse. The full Race day Owner Protocol is attached HERE. One of the guiding principles in keeping our racecourses safe for those working there or visiting, is to ensure as few people on site at any only time as possible. Therefore HRI are asking that owners should arrive no earlier than 40 minutes before their own race and leave 20 minutes after the race. Owners should familiarise themselves with the full race day protocols that are included at the above link.
